Facebook announces new targeting options for Business Pages

Last week, Facebook announced they would be adding new features that allow business Page admins to use new targeting options for Page posts.

Facebook started rolling out the update last week and should be available to all Pages within the next few weeks.

Targeting Options

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Relationship Status
  • Location
  • Language
  • Education
  • Workplace

While many of the same targeting features Facebook ads have, interests, will not be included in the initial roll-out of Facebook Pages.

All posts made on the Page will be visible, however, targeted posts will show in the news feeds of the individuals that meet the targeting criteria.

What This Means For Page Admins

This change provides an enormous opportunity for Page admins to have more control over the posts users see in their news feeds, thus reducing the likelihood of users unsubscribing to posts or un-liking a Page.
